On Wednesday the 7th of March, Ed and Shelena Serrano were joined by friends of Vekta to celebrate Ed’s nomination for the 2018 Business News 40 under 40 Gala dinner held at Crown Perth.
The evening began with an introduction for the night and a quick speech about how the awards have grown over the last sixteen years, celebrating the passion, vision and achievements of Western Australia’s young business people and the contribution they are making to the state’s future. Then the first group of 20 awardees for the 40 under 40 were announced.
Whilst enjoying a delicious meal of Eye Fillet steak with truffled mashed potato, awardees and their guests were given the opportunity to watch a magician’s show, which left the crowd amazed. Then came the announcement for the next group of 20 winners. Ed was announced as a 40under40 winner and winner of the Medium Business Category.
During dessert, a delicious lemon meringue tart, a procession began, with each of the 40 under 40 awardees walking straight and serious up to the stage, all except for Ed, who grinned and waved at the camera. Once everyone was up on the stage the First Amongst Equals was announced, the winner, Raleigh Finlayson, was thankful and delightful as he gave his winning speech.
The night ended with a little friendly networking and photos of the award winners.
